In 1998 they expanded their product offerings not just into the front-end
of the IC design process, but also down into the IC manufacturing
process as well. These strategic moves allowed them to expand their
market size and provide a wider range of technological solutions.
They introduced eight new products in 1998. Of these, their most
significant breakthrough was the introduction of Milkyway, the
industry's only common database for IC design. Milkyway is the
foundation of much of our technological success and forms the basis
for our entire physical design tool suite.
